Warhammer 40K is pretty sweet. So as my tribute to one of the coolest games that has the most interesting and complex lore out of maybe every other game in existence I decided to model a Bolter. It’s not exact and the moving parts don’t work but it doesn’t look half bad.
After getting a 3D printer it was important to branch out and use different software to get out of my comfort zone in order to understand how complex models are made to specific measurements. For instance with my background it’s easy to use 3D Studio Max to make something like this since I’ve been using the software for almost 15 years, but using actual engineering tools like Fusion 360 made this a much bigger challenge.
I’d like to redesign this again with the goal of making removable clip, a working trigger and latch on the side to load the ammo. We’ll see if that happens though, I still want to redo the RoboCop gun which has a lot of similarities to the Bolter.
